Cookie Policy
This policy explains how the Chacos Tacos Account service uses cookies and similar technologies.
Last updated: March 2026 · This policy is provided in accordance with the EU ePrivacy Directive, the German Telemedia Act (TMG), and the German Telecommunications-Telemedia Data Protection Act (TTDSG).
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work properly, to remember your preferences, and to understand how the site is used. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage used by the application.
2. How we use cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies only as described below. We distinguish between cookies that are strictly necessary for the service and those that might be used for other purposes (e.g. analytics or marketing), which we would only use with your consent where required by law (e.g. TTDSG § 25).
3. Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential for the website and account service to function. They cannot be disabled without affecting core features. No consent is required for these under the ePrivacy/TTDSG because they are strictly necessary to provide the service you have requested.
- Session / authentication: We use cookies or similar storage to keep you signed in (e.g. storing or referencing your access token). Without these, you would have to log in again on every page or after closing the browser.
- Security and load balancing: Cookies or similar mechanisms may be used to support security (e.g. CSRF protection) and to ensure requests are handled correctly by our systems.
4. Optional cookies
If we introduce optional cookies (e.g. for analytics or preference storage that is not strictly necessary), we will ask for your consent before setting them, in line with the TTDSG and the GDPR. You will be able to manage your preferences (e.g. via a cookie banner or settings page). At present, we do not use optional or marketing cookies on the Chacos Tacos Account service.
5. Duration
Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies (if any) will have a defined lifetime stated at the time they are set. Authentication-related storage may persist until you log out or until the token expires in line with our security policy.
6. Your choices
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent you from using the login and account features. For more on how we process personal data, including data collected via cookies, see our Privacy Policy.
7. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will be revised. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
